Would you recommend this Conair straightener?

NO! conair is a cheap, cop-out brand...go with a pure ceramic plated flatiron. a great one is the sedu, but another good one is the h.a.i. ....check folica.com-they always have great deals and have lots of flatirons from both of those brands! good luck! =)
