Which should I read first-- Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn?

I recently purchased a book that contains 4 of Mark Twain's novels. Two of the included novels are Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I've never read either before, but isn't Huckleberry a character in Tom Sawyer? If so, do the two books have anything to do with one another (like a series of some sort)? If so, what order should I read them in? Or does it not matter? If it doesn't matter, which one would you recommend starting out with?
