Which breed of dog would be best?

I wouldn't go for Great Danes because they bark a lot and can highly disturb neighbors. I know this by fact, because where I live, there are 2 that reside behind me, and they are pains in the neck. They bark loudly day and night, in the house and outside for no reason what-so-ever, even the owners say so. If you plan on getting one, don't yell at them. If I go with my back neighbors, it makes them bark more, louder, and longer. And hearing an owner yell at the top of their lungs... is... kind of annoying...
